The Meteorology General Directorate issued its latest weather forecast for Wednesday, December 24, 2025. According to the published report, temperatures across the country are expected to remain above seasonal norms. However, the Directorate also issued warnings for several provinces, including Manisa, Yozgat, Sivas, Tokat, Sinop, and Artvin, with particular attention to strong rainfall in eastern Antalya.

General Weather Outlook for December 24, 2025

The general forecast indicates that the country will experience partly to very cloudy skies. Rainfall is expected in the western Marmara region, coastal Aegean, Western Mediterranean, Central and Eastern Black Sea coasts, and the vicinities of Manisa, Yozgat, Sivas, Tokat, Sinop, and Artvin. Additionally, western Denizli, northern and western Konya, and early morning hours in Zonguldak and Bartın are also expected to see precipitation.

The precipitation will generally be in the form of rain and showers. However, in the inner parts of the Eastern Black Sea region and around Sivas and Yozgat, mixed rain and snow, and even snow, are anticipated. Fog and mist are also expected in Marmara, Aegean, and the inner and eastern sections of the country during morning and night hours.

Strong Rainfall Warning for Antalya

The Meteorology General Directorate specifically warned about strong local rainfall in eastern Antalya from the evening hours onwards. Residents and authorities are advised to be cautious and take precautions against potential adverse effects such as floods, inundations, and disruptions in transportation.

Ankara

Ankara is expected to be very cloudy with temperatures around 8°C.

Istanbul

Istanbul will be partly to very cloudy, with showers expected in its western districts from the night hours. Temperatures will be around 13°C.

Izmir

Izmir is forecasted to be partly to very cloudy, with showers expected from the evening hours. Temperatures will be around 17°C.

Marmara Region

Partly to very cloudy, with rain and showers expected in the western parts from the evening. Fog and mist are anticipated during morning and night hours.

  • Çanakkale: 15°C, partly to very cloudy, showers from evening
  • Kırklareli: 12°C, partly to very cloudy, showers from night

Aegean Region

Partly to very cloudy, with intermittent rain and showers in coastal areas, Manisa, and western Denizli. Fog and mist are expected in the inner parts during morning and night hours.

  • Afyonkarahisar: 9°C, very cloudy
  • Denizli: 15°C, partly to very cloudy, western parts with showers from night
  • Muğla: 13°C, partly to very cloudy, intermittent rain and showers from noon

Mediterranean Region

Partly to very cloudy, with intermittent rain and showers in the Western Mediterranean. Strong local rainfall is expected in eastern Antalya from the evening. Fog and mist are anticipated in the inner parts during morning and night hours.

  • Adana: 20°C, partly to very cloudy
  • Antalya: 16°C, very cloudy, intermittent showers, locally strong in the east from evening
  • Hatay: 15°C, partly to very cloudy
  • Isparta: 12°C, very cloudy, intermittent rain

Central Anatolia Region

Partly to very cloudy, with precipitation in northern and western Konya, and around Yozgat and Sivas. The precipitation will be rain, with mixed rain and snow, and snow in Sivas and Yozgat. Fog and mist are expected during morning and night hours.

  • Eskişehir: 6°C, very cloudy
  • Kayseri: 10°C, partly to very cloudy
  • Konya: 11°C, very cloudy, intermittent rain in north and west from night

Western Black Sea Region

Partly to very cloudy, with intermittent precipitation in Zonguldak, Bartın, and Sinop. Fog and mist are expected during morning and night hours.

  • Bolu: 9°C, very cloudy
  • Düzce: 13°C, partly to very cloudy
  • Sinop: 13°C, very cloudy and intermittent rain
  • Zonguldak: 13°C, partly to very cloudy, rain in the morning

Central and Eastern Black Sea Region

Partly to very cloudy, with intermittent rain along the coasts and around Tokat and Artvin. Higher elevations will experience mixed rain and snow, and snow. Fog and mist are expected in the inner parts during morning and night hours.

  • Amasya: 10°C, very cloudy
  • Rize: 13°C, very cloudy and intermittent rain, mixed rain and snow/snow in higher elevations
  • Samsun: 12°C, very cloudy and intermittent rain
  • Trabzon: 13°C, very cloudy and intermittent rain, mixed rain and snow/snow in higher elevations

Eastern Anatolia Region

Partly to very cloudy. Ice and frost, along with mist and fog, are expected during morning and night hours.

  • Erzurum: 5°C, partly to very cloudy
  • Kars: 4°C, partly to very cloudy
  • Malatya: 9°C, partly to very cloudy
  • Van: 6°C, partly to very cloudy

Southeastern Anatolia Region

Partly cloudy. Mist and fog are expected in the northern parts during morning and night hours.

  • Batman: 11°C, partly cloudy
  • Diyarbakır: 12°C, partly cloudy
  • Gaziantep: 13°C, partly cloudy
  • Mardin: 11°C, partly cloudy
