Ankara, December 23 – A private jet that took off from Ankara and crashed in the Haymana district this evening carried tragic news: Libyan Chief of Staff, Mohammed Ali Ahmed Al-Haddad, has died. The incident occurred after Al-Haddad concluded an official visit to Ankara.

Libyan Prime Minister Confirms Fatalities

According to Al Jazeera, Libyan Prime Minister Abdülhamid Dibeybe confirmed the deaths of those on board the plane. Dibeybe expressed his sorrow and mourning over the accident and the losses incurred.

Following the crash, flights at Ankara Esenboğa Airport returned to normal operations.

Official Visit to Ankara

Mohammed Ali Ahmed Al-Haddad was in Ankara as an official guest of the Turkish Chief of General Staff, General Selçuk Bayraktaroğlu. General Bayraktaroğlu had welcomed his counterpart with an official ceremony, followed by a bilateral meeting.

A delegation meeting was also planned, which included Commander of the Land Forces General Metin Tokel and Libyan Land Forces Commander Lieutenant General Futuri Gribel.

Subsequently, Al-Haddad held a meeting with Turkish Minister of National Defense Yaşar Güler.

The exact cause of the private jet crash remains under investigation, with authorities yet to release further details regarding the circumstances of the accident.
