ANKARA (IGFA) – Students aged 4-5 from the Child Development Centers affiliated with Keçiören Municipality, under the supervision of their teachers, visited the Martyr Cuma Dağ Natural History Museum, which operates under the General Directorate of Mineral Research and Exploration.
Joy of Observation and Discovery
During the excursion, guided by museum experts and teachers, the children experienced the joy of observation and discovery. This activity, aimed at fostering early scientific and nature awareness, also supported the students’ imagination and learning motivation. The excitement on the faces of the little ones as they encountered science once again highlighted the value of such events.
Dinosaur Fossils: The Little Ones’ Favorite
Throughout the educational and discovery-filled trip, the children meticulously examined dinosaur fossils and remains with great curiosity. Particularly, rare materials extracted from the depths of the sea millions of years ago and brought to the museum from very distant geographies were among the sections that most captivated the little ones. Through the exhibited specimens, students gained age-appropriate information about ancient creatures and the geological journey of the Earth.
Excursions to Continue
Officials from the Keçiören Municipality Child Development Center stated that such educational trips, which contribute to the social, cultural, and scientific development of children, will continue. The program also plans to introduce children to different museums and cultural landmarks.
The initiative by Keçiören Municipality highlights the importance of early childhood education in science and natural history, providing hands-on learning experiences that spark curiosity and a love for discovery among young learners. These efforts are crucial for nurturing future generations with a strong foundation in scientific inquiry.
