Ebubekir Yıldırım, a real estate expert active in the region for many years, stated that Yenişehir offers a new city model for Istanbul. He remarked, “A new city is being built in Istanbul. Its name is Yenişehir. With 50-55 meter wide avenues, planned streets, social and cultural living spaces, the orderly urban life no longer found in Istanbul is offered here. With the Northern Marmara Motorway, Nakkaş connection, Kanal Istanbul line, and surrounding housing projects, this place is becoming a new living center.”

Yıldırım also drew attention to Yenişehir’s ground structure, addressing the earthquake risk, one of Istanbul’s most critical issues. He explained, “The ground in this region has a rocky and solid structure extending to the Thracian line. The newly built state projects are also rising as earthquake-resistant and quality structures. Proximity to the airport, new shopping malls, marina projects, and Karaburun connections make Arnavutköy attractive for both investment and trade.”

In recent months, claims that “a new district is being established in Istanbul” circulated regarding the Yenişehir Project. The Directorate of Communications’ Center for Combating Disinformation (DMM) issued an official statement on the matter.
DMM: No Work on a New District
The DMM’s statement emphasized that these claims were false and speculative, stating, “Claims that a new district named ‘Yenişehir’ will be established in Istanbul are unfounded. The Ministry of Interior or any other institution does not have such a study.”
The statement also reminded the public that the establishment of provinces and districts is only possible by law and urged the public not to trust unverified information.
