ANKARA, Beypazarı – Six wooden houses were rendered unusable following a fire that erupted in the Karcıkaya Neighborhood of Beypazarı district, Ankara, yesterday evening. One firefighter sustained injuries during the extensive efforts to bring the blaze under control.

Fire Spreads Rapidly Through Wooden Structures

The fire originated in a detached house on Alaaddin Street in the Karcıkaya Neighborhood. Due to the wooden construction of the initial dwelling, the flames rapidly intensified and spread to five additional houses on the same street. Witnesses immediately alerted authorities, prompting the dispatch of gendarmerie, health, and fire department teams to the scene.

Firefighting crews engaged in prolonged efforts to contain the conflagration. The fire was eventually brought under control, but not before it had completely engulfed and destroyed six residences. A gendarmerie investigation has been initiated to ascertain the cause of the fire, which remains undetermined at this time.

One Firefighter Injured During Operations

During the arduous firefighting operations, one firefighter suffered injuries. Details regarding the nature and severity of the injuries were not immediately available. The injured firefighter received medical attention at the scene or was transported to a nearby medical facility.

The incident has left six families without homes, as all the affected wooden structures are now uninhabitable. Local authorities are expected to provide support and assistance to the displaced residents.

Investigation Underway to Determine Cause

The gendarmerie has launched a comprehensive investigation into the incident. Investigators will examine the scene, collect evidence, and interview witnesses to determine the exact cause of the fire. At this stage, no official statement has been made regarding potential causes, such as electrical malfunction, arson, or accidental ignition.

Local officials have emphasized the importance of fire safety, particularly in areas with a prevalence of wooden structures. This incident serves as a stark reminder of the destructive potential of fires and the critical role of swift emergency response.
