Eşarj Prevents 123 Million Kilograms of Carbon Emissions, Equivalent to 25,000 Vehicles Annually
Istanbul, January 28 – Eşarj, Turkey’s electric vehicle charging network operator, wholly owned by Enerjisa Enerji, announced today that its charging services, powered by YEK-G certified renewable energy, have contributed to preventing 123 million kilograms of carbon emissions by the end of 2025. This significant environmental impact is equivalent to approximately 25,000 fossil-fueled vehicles being off the road for an entire year.
Focus on 100% Renewable Energy
The company emphasized its commitment to developing charging infrastructure with sustainable energy sources. Eşarj provides its charging services entirely from 100% renewable energy sources, adopting a holistic ‘well-to-wheel’ clean energy approach. This focus is particularly crucial in Turkey, where the number of electric vehicles has nearly doubled in the last year, leading to a substantial increase in demand for charging stations and signaling a new era where the share of fossil-fueled vehicles in the total fleet will gradually decrease.
Eşarj, as the first charging operator in Turkey to hold a green energy certificate, verifies that the electricity used at its stations comes from renewable sources. Through these renewable energy-powered charges, Eşarj has contributed to preventing 123 million kg of carbon emissions by the end of 2025. This impact is comparable to 25,000 fossil-fueled vehicles not being on the road for a year.
Customer Experience at the Core of Development
The statement from the company highlighted their approach to customer experience: “Eşarj develops its customer experience not from behind a desk, but by listening to electric vehicle users and incorporating feedback from the field. User needs during the charging process are critical in the development of digital solutions such as Eşarj Auto and Travel Planning features, as well as in guiding new station investments through direct user input like location suggestions. This ensures that clean energy is not just an environmental choice, but also a fast, easy, and reliable experience for the user.”
Trust and Sustainability: Key to E-Mobility Success
Yakup Aydilek, General Manager of Eşarj, underscored the company’s contribution to preventing carbon emissions by offering the possibility to charge electric vehicles with YEK-G certified energy. He stated: “Electric mobility in Turkey is now a rapidly scaling transformation. While the number of electric vehicles was at 185,000 at the end of 2024, this figure exceeded 373,000 by December 2025. In the same period, the number of commercial charging sockets increased from 26,000 to over 38,000. This clearly indicates that the need for investment in charging infrastructure will further increase in the coming years.”
Aydilek continued, “As Eşarj, we act with the responsibility that comes from being the first charging operator to initiate this business in Turkey. We believe that the environmental benefit of electric mobility is only meaningful when charging is provided with 100% renewable energy; we adopt a clean energy approach from source to wheel. In this growing and increasingly competitive market, what makes the difference is not just infrastructure, but user experience. With the solutions we develop by listening to our customers, we approach growth with a responsible consumption mindset, aiming to make sustainable mobility a natural part of daily life for a Better Future for Everyone.”
