The farewell ceremony, organized by the District Mufti’s Office, saw the 60 pilgrims bidding farewell to their relatives and loved ones. The event was held with the participation of family members and local community members, marking a significant moment for those departing for the sacred journey.

Prayers Led by District Mufti Mehmet Süsün

Following the emotional farewells, the group departed for the holy lands after prayers were led by District Mufti Mehmet Süsün. The prayers were offered for a safe and blessed pilgrimage for all the participants.

Details of the Pilgrimage

The Umrah pilgrimage is an Islamic pilgrimage to Mecca, Saudi Arabia, performed by Muslims that can be undertaken at any time of the year, in contrast to the Hajj which has specific dates according to the Islamic lunar calendar. It is often referred to as the ‘minor pilgrimage’ and involves a series of rituals.

The departure of the 60 individuals from Beypazarı highlights the continued importance of religious observances and pilgrimages within the community. Such organized trips provide an opportunity for many to fulfill their religious duties and experience the spiritual journey to the holy sites.

The event underscores the strong faith and devotion of the local population in Beypazarı, as they undertake this significant religious journey.
