Ankara, February 10 – A tragic incident unfolded in Ankara today when a 35-year-old man, Recep Cengiz, killed his mother, his 8-year-old daughter, and his estranged wife before taking his own life. The motive behind the horrific act remains unknown.
Details of the Tragic Event
The incident occurred in the Kuşcağız neighborhood of Keçiören district. According to initial reports, Recep Cengiz, for an unknown reason, first shot and killed his mother, Azize Cengiz (57), and his daughter, Azra Cengiz (8), with a handgun. He then placed their bodies in the trunk of his light commercial vehicle, bearing license plate 35 ASA 769.
Following this, Cengiz drove to the residence of his estranged wife, Beyzanur Cengiz (25). Allegedly, he arrived disguised as a courier, wearing a helmet. He then shot and killed his wife. After committing these murders, Cengiz used the same handgun to commit suicide.
Police and Medical Teams Dispatched
Neighbors, hearing the gunshots, immediately notified the authorities. Police and medical teams were dispatched to the scene. After investigations at the site, the bodies of the deceased were transported to the Keçiören Forensic Medicine Institute for autopsy.
