The “Northern Ankara’s Best” awards ceremony, organized by the Northern Ankara Industrialists and Business People Association (KASİAD), took place with significant attendance at the Saray Cultural Center in Pursaklar. The event brought together numerous figures from bureaucracy, politics, art, sports, business, and media worlds.
KASİAD President Emphasizes Regional Development and Youth
KASİAD President Selçuk Çetin, in his opening speech, highlighted the association’s mission: “Our aim is to act as a bridge between our municipalities and our government and ministries to address any service needs in our districts, particularly in Northern Ankara, starting from Pursaklar, extending to Çubuk, Akyurt, and Kalecik. It is an honor for us to provide solutions to the problems of these districts. We strive to make our province and districts livable, but what is most important is this: if you build a city but neglect and destroy its generations, the city you built will be destroyed by the generations you neglected. We must not neglect our youth and children. While developing the city, we must also pay attention to our own youth.”
Hürriyet Ankara Recognized for Regional Coverage
During the ceremony, awards were presented in seven different categories. Murat Yılmaz, Ankara News Coordinator for Hürriyet Newspaper, received the “Ankara Region Best Media Award.” Yılmaz accepted his award from Mehmet Tahsin Solmaz, Chairman of the Board of Solmaz Real Estate and Construction and Deputy Chairman of the Association.
Murat Yılmaz: Northern Ankara Deserves More
Expressing his gratitude to everyone involved, Yılmaz stated, “Northern Ankara has become popular recently. The contribution of business people and local administrations to the development of the region is significant. We, at Hürriyet Newspaper’s Ankara pages, always try to highlight the region’s problems and development. The North actually deserves more. At this point, there are many issues, and these are being brought to the agenda. I hope the Esenboğa Metro will be completed as soon as possible, and transportation will be provided. The Akyurt Exhibition Center is another pending issue. With the synergy achieved here, we see that these will be realized quickly.”
Key Issues for Northern Ankara
Yılmaz specifically mentioned two critical infrastructure projects that are vital for the continued development and accessibility of Northern Ankara:
- Esenboğa Metro: The completion of this metro line is expected to significantly improve transportation links to the Esenboğa Airport and surrounding areas, benefiting both residents and businesses.
- Akyurt Exhibition Center: The development of this exhibition center is anticipated to boost the region’s economy by attracting more events, trade shows, and visitors, creating new business opportunities and employment.
These projects, along with ongoing efforts by KASİAD and local administrations, are seen as crucial for unlocking the full potential of Northern Ankara.
KASİAD’s Role in Bridging Gaps
KASİAD’s role extends beyond organizing award ceremonies. The association actively works to:
- Coordinate Services: Facilitate communication and collaboration between municipalities to ensure efficient service delivery.
- Engage with Government: Act as a liaison with government bodies and ministries to advocate for regional needs and secure support for development projects.
- Promote Youth Development: Emphasize the importance of investing in the younger generation, recognizing that sustainable urban development requires nurturing its human capital.
The “Northern Ankara’s Best” awards ceremony not only celebrated achievements but also served as a platform to reiterate the commitment to the region’s future, highlighting the collective efforts of various stakeholders in driving progress and addressing challenges.
