Ankara-based ‘Fake Advertisement’ Operation: 16 Detained

According to information obtained, the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office launched an investigation to apprehend suspects committing ‘qualified fraud’. As part of this, the Ankara Police Department’s Cybercrime Branch Directorate began working to identify suspects after receiving a report that one person was defrauded of 13 million Turkish Lira through a fake house advertisement on an internet site.
Nationwide Raids Lead to Arrests
Teams successfully identified the suspects and conducted simultaneous operations centered in Ankara, extending to Istanbul, Izmir, Adana, Hatay, Gaziantep, Bursa, Konya, and Şırnak. These coordinated raids resulted in the detention of 16 suspects.
