Three Parked Vehicles Destroyed in Maltepe Fire, Arson Suspected

Istanbul, March 11 – A fire that started in two parked vehicles in Maltepe, Istanbul, quickly spread to a third car, destroying all three. Firefighters worked for an hour to bring the blaze under control, leaving the vehicles unusable. Police have launched an investigation into suspected arson after a petrol can was found at the scene.

Fire Engulfs Vehicles in Fındıklı Neighborhood

The incident occurred in Fındıklı Neighborhood, Fırat Street, where a minibus and an articulated tow truck belonging to a moving and transport company caught fire for an unknown reason. Emergency services, including fire, police, and medical teams, were immediately dispatched to the scene after reports were received.

The flames rapidly engulfed the two initial vehicles and then spread to another parked car nearby. Firefighters battled the blaze for approximately one hour before finally extinguishing it. All three vehicles were rendered unusable and were subsequently removed from the scene by tow trucks.

Arson Investigation Underway After Petrol Can Discovery

A significant development in the investigation came with the discovery of an empty petrol can at the scene, raising suspicions of arson. Police teams have initiated a thorough investigation into the possibility of deliberate ignition.
