Istanbul, March 20 – A tragic accident unfolded in the Pendik district of Istanbul early Thursday morning, when a taxi carrying three passengers lost control on a rain-slicked road and plunged into a water canal. The incident, which occurred around 06:00 AM on the Pendik-Kurtköy TEM Connection Road, resulted in the deaths of three individuals and left one person injured.
Details of the Accident
According to initial reports, the driver of the taxi lost control of the vehicle due to the slippery conditions caused by rainfall. The car then veered off the road and crashed into a water canal located in a green area. The impact of the crash was severe, trapping one person inside the wreckage.
Emergency Response and Casualties
Upon notification by bystanders, emergency services, including fire, police, and health teams, were immediately dispatched to the scene. Rescue teams worked to extricate the trapped individual from the vehicle, who was then handed over to medical personnel for treatment. Tragically, three occupants of the taxi were pronounced dead at the scene.
