Devastating Fire Engulfs Home, Vehicles in Ankara’s Güdül District
Ankara, March 23 – A significant fire broke out in the Salihler Neighborhood of Ankara’s Güdül district yesterday evening, completely destroying a two-story detached house, a parked car, and a tractor. The incident, which occurred at approximately 23:51 on March 22, 2026, prompted a rapid response from fire brigades.
Residents first noticed flames rising from the house, owned by Veysel Arıcı, and immediately alerted emergency services. Fire teams were dispatched to the scene without delay, where they encountered a building fully engulfed in flames.
Intense Battle Against the Blaze
Firefighters launched an intense operation, battling the inferno with pressurized water. Despite the challenging conditions, the crews managed to bring the fire under control after a strenuous effort. However, by the time the flames were extinguished, the damage was extensive.
The two-story house was rendered completely unusable. In addition to the residential structure, a car and a tractor that were parked nearby were also consumed by the fire, leaving them as total losses. The rapid spread of the fire and the intensity of the blaze suggest that the property contained materials that fueled its destructive path.

At this stage, the exact reason for the fire’s ignition remains unknown, but all possibilities are being considered.
The incident has caused significant material loss for the homeowner, Veysel Arıcı. The destruction of his home and vehicles represents a substantial personal and financial setback. Local officials have yet to release further details regarding potential support or assistance for the affected family.
This event highlights the ever-present danger of fires in residential areas, particularly in detached properties where flames can spread rapidly. Emergency services continue to emphasize the importance of fire safety measures and prompt reporting of any fire incidents to prevent such devastating outcomes.
