Car Crashes into Barriers, Four Injured in Van-Gürpınar
Van, March 26 – Four individuals were injured today when a car lost control on a slippery road in the Gürpınar district of Van, crossed into the opposite lane, and collided with roadside barriers, leaving the vehicle suspended. The accident took place on the Van-Yüksekova highway, specifically in the Hoşap area.
Details of the Accident
The incident occurred due to the slippery conditions caused by heavy rainfall. The driver, whose name and license plate were not immediately released, lost control of the vehicle. The car veered into the oncoming lane before crashing into the barriers along the side of the road, where it became suspended.
Witnesses immediately reported the accident, prompting the dispatch of gendarmerie, fire department, and 112 Emergency Service teams to the scene.
Victims Identified, One in Critical Condition
Health teams extricated the injured from the vehicle. The victims were identified as Ferhat Renda, Davut Göres, Emircan Canan, and Cihan Adıyaman. After receiving initial medical attention at the scene, they were transported by ambulance to a nearby hospital.
Among the injured, Emircan Canan is reported to be in critical condition. Preliminary investigations revealed that Renda, Göres, and Canan are registered residents of Yüksekova, while Adıyaman is from Hakkari.
A comprehensive investigation into the accident has been launched by authorities.
