Significant Increase in Fiber and Mobile Subscriptions in Turkey
Ankara, April 5 – Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu announced a substantial increase in mobile internet subscribers in Turkey, reaching 75.6 million by the end of the fourth quarter of 2025. This statement was made during his evaluation of the Information and Communication Technologies Authority’s (BTK) Q4 2025 Communication Services Statistics Report.
Digitalization Continues to Accelerate
Uraloğlu emphasized that the digitalization process in Turkey is continuing at an unabated pace. The report highlights key trends in the country’s communication sector, showcasing growth in various segments.
Mobile Subscriber Count Rises to 99.7 Million
According to Uraloğlu, the number of mobile phone subscribers increased by 5.7 percent in Q4 2025 compared to the same period of the previous year, reaching 99.7 million. This growth underscores the widespread adoption of mobile communication services across the nation.
In contrast, the number of fixed telephone subscribers experienced a decline, falling from 9.03 million in Q4 2024 to 8.4 million in the same period of 2025.
Internet Subscriptions Reach 97.4 Million
The total number of internet subscribers in Turkey saw an increase of 1.1 percent, reaching 97.4 million. Mobile internet continues to hold the largest share within this total, reflecting its dominance in how Turkish citizens access online services.
Fiber internet usage also demonstrated remarkable growth:
- Fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) subscribers increased by 26.7 percent, reaching 8.6 million.
- The total number of fiber subscribers rose by 22 percent, totaling 9.8 million.
Data Usage Breaks Records
Uraloğlu further noted the sustained increase in broadband internet usage, with total data traffic surging by 17.1 percent to 24.2 million terabytes. This significant rise indicates a growing demand for data-intensive applications and services.
- Fixed internet traffic increased by 15.8 percent.
- Mobile internet traffic saw a 23 percent rise.
Mobile Voice Traffic at 76.8 Billion Minutes
In the fourth quarter of 2025, fixed voice traffic was recorded at 1.3 billion minutes, while mobile voice traffic reached an impressive 76.8 billion minutes. These figures underscore the continued importance of voice communication, particularly through mobile networks.
The data from the BTK report paints a clear picture of a rapidly evolving and expanding communication landscape in Turkey, driven by increasing mobile and fiber internet adoption and a growing appetite for data consumption.
