Five Sectors Targeted for Transformation
The platform is designed to accelerate the green and digital transformation of manufacturing industries operating in five critical sectors: machinery, electronics, automotive, white goods, and textiles. Its primary goal is to foster a robust collaborative ecosystem by uniting technology providers, transformation centers, academies, and decision-makers.
Deputy Governor Kaya emphasized the government’s commitment, stating, “As the public sector, we are here to support you in such important projects, with all our institutions, especially İSTKA.”
Digital and Green Transformation at the Forefront
Dr. Ziya Taşkent, İSTKA Secretary General, highlighted İSTKA’s role: “İSTKA, as a stakeholder in such valuable projects, is an institution that has allocated nearly 11 billion dollars to over a thousand works. We are here because we have a mission to determine what Istanbul needs.”
Mehmet Ziya Üstün, BÜVAK General Manager, elaborated on the platform’s vision: “Our project was accepted by İSTKA. This twin transformation platform was established as ‘Green and Digital Transformation.’ It will serve to support the digital transformation of five sectors, enable them to adapt to the needs of the era, and prioritize environmental considerations.”
The platform’s focus on both digital and green transformation is expected to enhance Istanbul’s industrial competitiveness, promote sustainable practices, and drive innovation across these crucial sectors. This initiative aligns with global trends towards more environmentally friendly and technologically advanced manufacturing processes, positioning Istanbul as a leader in industrial modernization.
The collaborative effort between academia, industry, and government aims to create a synergy that will not only benefit the participating sectors but also contribute to the overall economic development and environmental sustainability of Istanbul.
