Hotel Fire in Istanbul’s Kucukcekmece District Extinguished
Istanbul, April 10 – A fire that broke out on the terrace floor of a 5-story hotel in the Kucukcekmece district of Istanbul was successfully extinguished by fire department teams. The incident, which occurred on Belediye Street in Kartaltepe Mahallesi, saw flames rapidly engulfing the terrace and roof of the building.
Upon receiving the notification, fire, police, UMKE (National Medical Rescue Team), and health teams were immediately dispatched to the specified address. The swift response of the emergency services ensured the safe evacuation of all hotel guests and staff.
Two Individuals Rescued from Upper Floors
During the operation, two individuals who were trapped on the upper floors of the hotel and affected by smoke were rescued by fire department personnel using a fire escape ladder basket. Following their rescue, the two individuals received medical treatment in an ambulance at the scene.
Firefighting teams, reinforced by additional personnel from surrounding districts, actively intervened to control the blaze. After approximately one hour of intensive work, the fire was brought under control and completely extinguished.
The cause of the fire on the terrace floor of the hotel remains unknown and is currently under investigation.
