Heavy Rain Warning Issued for Istanbul and Other Provinces, Temperatures to Drop

Istanbul, April 22 – The General Directorate of Meteorology has released its latest weather forecast, indicating that temperatures in Istanbul will begin to drop on Wednesday, accompanied by heavy rainfall. The report highlights a strong likelihood of rain and thunderstorms across various parts of Turkey, with particular emphasis on certain regions.

Heavy Rainfall Expected in Marmara, Aegean, and Western Black Sea Regions

The latest assessments from the General Directorate of Meteorology predict that the country will experience partly to very cloudy conditions. Rain and thunderstorms are expected in Marmara, the Aegean (excluding Muğla), Western Mediterranean, northern Central Anatolia, Western and Central Black Sea, eastern Eastern Anatolia, and the vicinities of Bingöl, Diyarbakır, and Batman.

Specifically, the southern and eastern Marmara, northern Aegean, and Western Black Sea regions are expected to experience locally heavy rainfall today (Wednesday). Additionally, there is a risk of avalanches and snowmelt in the inner parts of the Eastern Black Sea and in high-altitude, snow-covered areas of Eastern Anatolia.
