Zeytinburnu Hosts First-Ever Clothing Festival, Attracting Large Crowds Ahead of Eid al-Adha

Istanbul, May 17 – The inaugural Zeytinburnu Clothing Festival, organized with the support of the Zeytinburnu Municipality, officially commenced yesterday, May 16, 2026. The festival, held at 15 Temmuz Square, aims to provide residents with a diverse shopping experience for all ages, particularly in anticipation of the upcoming Eid al-Adha holiday. The event has already garnered significant attention, with a large turnout on its opening day.

The opening ceremony was attended by Zeytinburnu District Governor Dr. Adem Uslu and other distinguished guests. Following a ribbon-cutting, Dr. Uslu and his entourage toured the various brand stalls, examining the products on display.

Zeytinburnu: A Hub for Textile and Fashion

Hüseyin Baran Demir, speaking at the opening, emphasized Zeytinburnu’s crucial role in the textile and fashion industry. “Zeytinburnu is truly one of the centers of textile and fashion. We wanted to bring high-quality textile manufacturing to the citizens here at Zeytinburnu Square, under the name of a clothing festival, between May 16 and 26, just before Eid,” Demir stated. “We initiated this first festival this year to bring quality textile products and brands to all Istanbul residents. It will last for 10 days. I invite all Istanbul residents to this festival. It’s a festival we envisioned for people to do their Eid shopping with their families and children before the holiday. The prices are very reasonable. We hope people will come and see it for themselves.”

A Wide Array of Brands and Affordable Prices

The festival brings together numerous manufacturer and exporter brands, offering a wide selection of women’s, men’s, children’s, and sportswear. The Zeytinburnu Clothing Festival tent, set up at 15 Temmuz Square, will welcome visitors from May 16 to May 26.

The event provides a timely opportunity for families to purchase new clothes for Eid al-Adha at competitive prices. Organizers anticipate continued high attendance throughout the 10-day event, further solidifying Zeytinburnu’s reputation as a key player in the textile sector.
