The Ankara Public Prosecutor’s Office has initiated an investigation into the secret public structure of the Fethullahist Terrorist Organization (FETÖ). As part of this ongoing investigation, 24 detention warrants have been issued for suspects operating within FETÖ’s covert public network. The operation, spearheaded from Ankara, is being conducted simultaneously across 11 provinces.

Investigation Targets FETÖ’s Secret Communication Methods

According to a statement released by the Ankara Public Prosecutor’s Office, the Terrorism Crimes Investigation Bureau has been meticulously examining operational phone lines used by suspects involved in FETÖ’s secret public structure. This extensive work has led to significant breakthroughs in identifying key individuals within the organization.

Coordinated Efforts Lead to Identification of Suspects

In a coordinated effort between the National Intelligence Organization (MİT) and the Provincial Police Department’s Counter-Terrorism Branch teams, 24 suspects have been identified. These individuals are believed to have used ByLock, a secret communication application favored by the organization, and have been linked to sequential calls made via payphones and prepaid lines, which are known organizational communication methods. Furthermore, statements regarding their organizational activities have been obtained for some of the suspects.

Detention Warrants Issued for 24 Suspects

Evidence gathered against these 24 suspects indicates their involvement in organizational activities. Among them, seven are currently active in various public institutions. Detention warrants have been issued for all 24 individuals, signaling a significant step in dismantling the covert network.

Simultaneous Operations Across 11 Provinces

To apprehend the suspects, teams from the Provincial Police Department’s Counter-Terrorism Branch have launched simultaneous operations across 11 provinces, with Ankara serving as the central hub. The large-scale operation aims to bring these individuals to justice and further disrupt FETÖ’s clandestine operations within public institutions.

Ongoing Fight Against Terrorism

This operation underscores the continuous efforts by Turkish authorities to combat terrorism, particularly targeting the remnants of FETÖ. The organization, which orchestrated the failed coup attempt in July 2016, continues to be a focus of national security operations aimed at neutralizing its influence and preventing future threats.

The investigation is expected to continue, with authorities aiming to uncover more details about the organization’s structure and its members. The coordinated actions between intelligence and law enforcement agencies highlight the comprehensive approach being taken to safeguard national security.

The public is reminded that such operations are crucial for maintaining the integrity of public institutions and ensuring the safety and stability of the country. Further updates on the operation are expected as the investigation progresses.
