Fuat Oktay, Chairman of the TBMM Foreign Affairs Committee and AK Party Ankara Deputy, recently conducted a series of engagements in Keçiören, Ankara. His visit included a courtesy call to AK Party Keçiören District Head Ömer Faruk İslam and his team, followed by a comprehensive discussion with party officials and a interactive ‘Youth Meeting’ with local residents.

Discussions on National and International Agendas

The program focused on evaluating the current political agenda in Ankara, Keçiören, and Turkey as a whole, with a particular emphasis on Turkey’s foreign policy vision. The visit, which also saw the participation of AK Party Provincial Executive Board Member Melike Günay Topaçoğlu, commenced with a meeting between Fuat Oktay, Ömer Faruk İslam, district executive and administrative board members, and the heads of the Women’s and Youth Branches. During this session, Oktay gathered information and held consultations regarding the ongoing activities of the Keçiören Organization.

Oktay provided insights into Turkey’s global vision and the international agenda. He addressed global tensions and ongoing wars, emphasizing Turkey’s continued pursuit of its strategic goals and global projects without being affected by these crises. Oktay stated, “Turkey has successfully solidified its position as a regional power and has now stepped into the process of becoming a direct global power. All our planning and fieldwork reflect this vision.”

The meeting also covered local fieldwork in Ankara and Keçiören, alongside the general political agenda. Oktay criticized the opposition’s approach in domestic politics, summarizing the party’s vision with these words: “The AK Party continues its path completely free from the narrow conflicts and sterile cycles of domestic politics.”

AK Party Keçiören District Head Ömer Faruk İslam, in his speech during the visit, highlighted that the high-level “Strategy Development Meetings” conducted under the leadership of President Erdoğan during Fuat Oktay’s tenure as Vice President were a significant gain for the organizational memory and vision of the party.

İslam added, “Our party and government’s foreign relations program, prepared with a sustainable, macro-scale perspective, free from narrow political disputes, is the greatest source of motivation for us in the field, inspired by our President’s global vision.”

Youth Engagement: A Platform for Dialogue

Following the organizational visit, a “Youth Meeting” was held at the invitation of the Keçiören District Youth Branches, attended by young residents of the district. The meeting, held at a cafe in Keçiören with significant participation, provided Oktay with an opportunity to share his knowledge and experiences in bureaucracy, politics, and state administration with the youth.

The event, conducted in an interactive question-and-answer format, allowed young people to directly ask Fuat Oktay about topics of interest to them. The Youth Meeting concluded with a group photo session, attended by AK Party Keçiören District Head Ömer Faruk İslam, Provincial Executive Board Member Melike Günay Topaçoğlu, and district organization members.
