Ankara, June 7 – The Ankara Equestrian Sports Club commemorated its 70th anniversary with a special event held at its facilities. The program saw the participation of numerous members, athletes, coaches, administrators, and invited guests.
A Legacy of 70 Years: More Than Just a Number
During the celebratory program, Erol Özel, President of the Ankara Equestrian Sports Club, emphasized that the club’s 70-year history represents more than just a number. “Today, we are not just celebrating the age of an institution, but together we are saluting a deeply rooted legacy that has been nurtured with effort, strengthened by sports, and enriched by friendships over the years,” he stated.
Özel highlighted that the seventy-year history embodies thousands of memories, hundreds of successes, and a shared culture passed down through generations. He further added, “Since its establishment, the Ankara Equestrian Sports Club has been an important center that has contributed to the development of equestrian sports, prioritized sportsmanship, and pioneered the upbringing of young athletes.”
Erol Özel also pointed out that the unique aspect of the club is not solely its sporting achievements. “The friendships forged here, the shared excitements, the efforts made, and the sense of belonging created are also the most valuable parts of this great structure,” he explained.
Tributes and Awards for Contributions to the Club
Özel expressed his gratitude to former administrators, athletes, coaches, employees, and members who contributed to the club’s journey to the present day. He remarked, “We remember with respect, gratitude, and mercy all our elders who are no longer with us but contributed to this club reaching today with their efforts. The role our club has undertaken in many areas, from equestrian training to the development of young athletes, from social responsibility projects to national and international organizations, is one of the most important indicators of its respected position in the sports world.”
He concluded by saying, “Inspired by this deeply rooted seventy-year history, we sincerely believe that our club will continue to be an important address for sports, friendship, and solidarity in the future.”
As part of the program, plaques were presented to individuals who had served the club for many years, and athletes who achieved success in various organizations were also honored. The celebration concluded with a musical recital and various other activities.
