Armed Attack on Otokoç General Directorate in Maltepe, Istanbul
Istanbul, June 7, 2026 – Two masked individuals carried out an armed attack on the Otokoç General Directorate building located on Saygı Street in the Aydınevler neighborhood of Maltepe. The incident, which occurred in the morning, resulted in two bullets striking the building. Following the report, police teams were immediately dispatched to the scene.
Investigations in the area revealed that the suspects, after the attack, discarded their weapons and clothing in the garden of a nearby shopping center before fleeing the scene in a taxi.
Suspects Apprehended by Istanbul Police
The Istanbul Police Department issued a written statement announcing the apprehension of the suspects involved in the armed attack on the automotive company. The statement detailed the events:
“Regarding the incident that occurred on June 7, 2026, in the Aydınevler neighborhood of Maltepe district; upon determining that the workplace was fired upon, an investigation and search were initiated to identify the escape routes of the suspicious individuals. Two individuals were apprehended and taken into custody in a short period. The ongoing investigation into the matter continues.”
Similar Attack in Antalya on Otokoç Gallery
Later in the day, a similar armed attack was reported in Antalya. At approximately 3:30 PM, a masked and hooded individual opened fire on an Otokoç gallery on Serik Street in the Altınova neighborhood of Kepez district before fleeing. Employees, hearing the gunshots, rushed outside. Bullets hit the building, and police and medical teams were dispatched to the address following a call to the 112 Emergency Call Center. Police teams secured the area, and Crime Scene Investigation teams continued their work at the business. Three bullet casings were found at the scene.
Police teams have launched an operation to apprehend the fleeing suspect based on descriptions provided by eyewitnesses. The escape of the suspect in Antalya was also captured by security cameras.

Authorities have not yet released information regarding the motive behind these synchronized attacks on Otokoç facilities in two different cities. The rapid apprehension of the suspects in Istanbul suggests a swift and effective response by law enforcement.
