Ankara, June 26 – A suspect, identified as M.T., who was reportedly chasing an individual with a ‘sallama’ (a type of edged weapon) and subsequently attacked security guards attempting to intervene, was shot in the leg and apprehended in Ankara’s Yenimahalle district.

The incident took place last night, June 26, 2026, in front of Meydan AVM on Batıkent Boulevard in the Kentkoop neighborhood of Yenimahalle. According to initial reports, M.T. began chasing his coworker, İ.H.A., with a ‘sallama’ knife.
Security Guards Intervene, Suspect Attacks
