Accident on Northern Ring Road: 11 Injured
Istanbul, January 18 – Eleven people were injured when a service minibus overturned on the Istanbul Northern Ring Road, near Boğazköy İstiklal, in the direction of Istanbul Airport. The accident, which occurred on a road made slippery by snowfall, involved a minibus driven by F.S. that lost control, hit barriers, and then overturned.
Emergency Response and Rescue Operations
Upon receiving the notification, health, police, fire, and UMKE teams were immediately dispatched to the specified location. Firefighters worked to extricate individuals who were trapped inside the overturned minibus.
All 11 injured individuals were transported to nearby hospitals by ambulances for medical attention. The extent of their injuries has not yet been released.
Traffic Disruption and Road Reopening
The accident led to the closure of two lanes of the highway, causing temporary traffic disruptions. After the removal of the minibus from the scene, the highway was reopened to traffic.
