23rd Ankara Book Fair Set to Welcome Thousands of Visitors
Ankara, Turkiye, April 2, 2026 – The 23rd Ankara Book Fair, a significant cultural and literary event, is poised to open its doors on Friday, April 3rd. This year, the fair is expected to host thousands of visitors, continuing its tradition as a major gathering point for the culture and literature world.
Official Opening with Minister Ersoy’s Attendance
The official opening ceremony of the fair will take place on April 3rd at 2:30 PM, with the participation of Mehmet Nuri Ersoy, the Minister of Culture and Tourism. Organized by Eylül Fuarcılık at ATO Congresium, the fair will feature more than 500 publishing houses and non-governmental organizations, alongside over a thousand scheduled events.
A Diverse Program for All Ages
The extensive program includes interviews, panels, poetry recitals, and activities specifically designed for children, catering to book lovers of all ages. With tens of thousands of book varieties and the presence of second-hand book dealers, the fair promises a rich cultural experience for all attendees.
Ayla Kutlu Honored, Kyrgyzstan as Guest Country
Ayla Kutlu, a prominent figure in Turkish literature, will be honored as this year’s “Author of Honor” and will meet with her readers. Kyrgyzstan has been designated as the “Guest Country,” with Sultan Raev, a significant representative of Kyrgyz literature, serving as the “International Guest of Honor.”
Meet Your Favorite Authors
The fair, which will run for 10 days, will bring together over 500 authors with their readers. Visitors will have the unique opportunity to meet their favorite authors, get their books signed, and engage in one-on-one conversations. The fair will remain open to visitors until April 12th.
