23rd Ankara Book Fair to Open Tomorrow, Featuring Kyrgyzstan as Guest Country
The 23rd Ankara Book Fair, organized under the theme “Meeting of Insatiable Readers,” is set to open its doors tomorrow, April 3, 2026. This significant cultural event will take place at ATO Congresium and welcome visitors until April 12, 2026.
According to a statement from Eylül Fuarcılık, the fair is a crucial meeting point for the cultural and literary world, preparing to host thousands of visitors this year. The event promises a rich cultural experience for book lovers of all ages.
Extensive Program and Participants
The fair will feature over 500 publishing houses and non-governmental organizations, offering a diverse array of tens of thousands of book varieties. More than a thousand events are scheduled, including interviews, panels, poetry recitals, and activities specifically designed for children. Second-hand booksellers will also be present, adding to the fair’s comprehensive offerings.
Honored Guests and Country
This year, the esteemed Turkish author Ayla Kutlu will be honored as the “Guest of Honor Author,” engaging with her readers. Kyrgyzstan has been designated as the “Guest Country” for the fair, with Sultan Raev, a prominent figure in Kyrgyz literature, serving as the “International Guest of Honor.”
Visitors will have the unique opportunity to meet their favorite authors, get their books signed, and engage in one-on-one conversations over the 10-day period. The fair will be open daily from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM.
