AJet, a prominent Turkish airline, is set to significantly expand its international flight network with the introduction of two new direct routes. Starting July 1, passengers will be able to fly directly from Ankara Esenboğa Airport to St. Petersburg Pulkovo Airport in Russia. Additionally, direct flights from Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen Airport to Alexandria International Airport in Egypt will commence on June 29.
Ankara to St. Petersburg: Five Flights Weekly
The new route connecting Ankara, Turkey’s capital, with St. Petersburg, Russia’s cultural capital, will operate five times a week. Flights from Ankara Esenboğa Airport to St. Petersburg Pulkovo Airport are scheduled for Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. This increased frequency underscores AJet’s commitment to enhancing Ankara’s international connectivity.
Istanbul to Alexandria: Three Flights Weekly
For travelers heading to Egypt, AJet will offer three weekly flights from Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen Airport to Alexandria International Airport. These flights will be available on Mondays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. Alexandria, a significant port city in Egypt, is expected to see a boost in tourism and trade thanks to this new direct link.
Affordable Fares and Strategic Expansion
AJet has announced competitive pricing for these new routes. Tickets for flights to Alexandria will start from 79 US dollars, while fares for the Ankara-St. Petersburg route will begin at 159 US dollars. This pricing strategy aims to make international travel more accessible for a wider range of passengers.
Kerem Sarp, General Manager of AJet, expressed his enthusiasm for the expansion, stating, “As an airline rapidly expanding its international flight network, we are delighted to announce two new international routes. We are launching flights from Istanbul to Alexandria, Egypt’s port city, starting June 29, and from Ankara to St. Petersburg, Russia’s cultural capital, starting July 1.”
Sarp further emphasized AJet’s strategic vision, highlighting that the airline currently operates direct flights to 37 destinations in 28 countries from Ankara. “We view growth in international routes from Ankara, alongside Istanbul, as a strategic objective to strengthen the capital’s global connectivity,” he added. He believes these new routes will significantly contribute to the development of cultural and commercial ties between Turkey and the respective countries.
Future Outlook: Continued Network Growth
AJet plans to continue expanding its international flight network in the upcoming period. “As AJet, with our rejuvenated fleet, we will continue to bring our guests to new destinations. In the coming period, we will continue to strengthen Turkey’s regional air connectivity by expanding our international flight network,” Sarp concluded. This ongoing expansion aligns with the airline’s goal of establishing Turkey as a key hub for regional air travel.
The introduction of these new flights is expected to benefit both business and leisure travelers, fostering stronger economic and cultural exchanges between Turkey, Russia, and Egypt. The airline’s focus on affordable fares and strategic route development positions it as a significant player in the regional aviation market.
