Ankara, February 22 – A shocking incident unfolded today in the Bağlıca region of Etimesgut district, Ankara, where a driving instructor, following a traffic dispute, assaulted another driver and then drove for kilometers with the victim clinging to the hood of his car. The assailant has been apprehended by police, and an investigation is underway.
Violent Altercation Escalates on the Road
The incident began around 3:30 PM when a driving instructor, employed by a local driving school, engaged in a heated argument with another driver while in traffic. The instructor reportedly exited his vehicle and assaulted the other driver. Despite a woman inside the victim’s car shouting about the instructor pulling a weapon, the assault continued with the instructor repeatedly punching the victim.
Bystanders intervened to separate the two, after which the instructor attempted to flee the scene in his vehicle. The victim, with a bloodied face, tried to block the instructor’s path, threatening to call the police. However, the enraged instructor ignored the warnings, accelerated his vehicle, and struck the victim.
Driver Clings to Hood for Kilometers
Upon impact, the victim fell onto the hood of the instructor’s car and was forced to cling on as the vehicle sped away. The instructor, seemingly indifferent to the person on his hood, continued driving at high speed towards Eryaman. Other drivers on the road attempted to intervene, swerving in front of the instructor’s car and sounding their horns to warn him, but he refused to stop, creating a dangerous situation.
Police were alerted to the incident and swiftly responded. Officers managed to intercept and stop the vehicle at the entrance to Eryaman. The aggressive driving instructor was immediately taken into custody.
Investigation Launched into the Incident
Authorities have launched a comprehensive investigation into the incident. Details regarding the initial dispute and the full extent of the victim’s injuries are expected to emerge as the investigation progresses. The identity of the instructor and the victim have not yet been released.
