Ankara, December 12 – The Ankara Governor’s Office today issued a public warning regarding a planned flight and coordination activity involving F-16 type military aircraft, which may result in loud noise for residents.
Planned F-16 Flight Activity in Ankara
According to a statement released by the Governor’s Office, Turkish Aerospace Industries (TUSAŞ) will be conducting a scheduled flight and coordination exercise with F-16 military aircraft in the city today.
The activity is slated to take place between 11:05 AM and 12:05 PM. The statement detailed the flight parameters:
- Location: Esenboğa Airport airspace
- Altitude: 10,000-20,000 feet
- Activity: Flight and coordination exercise
- Aircraft Type: F-16 military jets
Supersonic Speeds Expected
The Governor’s Office explicitly noted that during the flight, within the designated operational areas (4E), it is possible for the aircraft to exceed the speed of sound. This will likely cause a high-volume sound to be heard in the surrounding areas.
The statement reassured the public that the activity is entirely planned, controlled, and safe. Upon completion of the mission, the aircraft are expected to return to their respective airfields.
Residents are advised that while the noise may be significant, there is no cause for alarm as it is a routine and secure military exercise.
