Ankara’s 391 Bus Line: Enhanced Services and Adjusted Schedule for Commuters
Ankara, April 16 – The EGO General Directorate has announced significant adjustments to the 391 bus line, which serves the route from Doğantepe 2. Cadde to Ulus, Sıhhiye, 15 Temmuz Kızılay Millî İrade Meydanı, Kuğulu, and GOP. These changes, aimed at alleviating traffic congestion and improving commuter convenience in the capital, will take effect on April 20, 2026.
Early Morning Service Adjusted
As part of the new arrangement, the weekday 06:08 departure time will be brought forward to 06:04. This modification is intended to provide passengers with earlier access to public transportation, especially beneficial for those commuting during peak morning hours.
Two New Services Added to Meet Demand
To further address passenger density and enhance service frequency, two new services have been introduced. One new service will commence at 06:12 from the Doğantepe departure point, concluding at the 12463 Özyurt Primary School stop on Koza Street. Additionally, an extra service will be available at 13:10. These additions bring the total number of new services on the 391 line to two, significantly boosting its capacity.
EGO officials have stated that these modifications are part of a broader effort to make public transportation more comfortable and efficient for residents in the region. The adjustments are expected to reduce waiting times and improve overall travel experience for daily commuters.
Background and Context
The decision to revise the 391 bus line schedule and add new services comes amid growing demand for public transportation in Ankara. The city’s rapid development and increasing population have put pressure on existing transport networks, necessitating continuous improvements and expansions. The EGO General Directorate regularly reviews and updates its routes and schedules to ensure they meet the evolving needs of the public.
The 391 line is a crucial artery for many residents, connecting residential areas like Doğantepe with key city centers and public services. By optimizing its operations, the EGO aims to support the daily routines of thousands of commuters, contributing to a smoother and more reliable urban transport system.
Future Outlook
While these immediate changes address current needs, the EGO General Directorate continues to explore further initiatives to enhance Ankara’s public transportation infrastructure. Future plans may include the introduction of more eco-friendly vehicles, integration with other transport modes, and the expansion of digital services to provide real-time information to passengers. The goal remains to create a comprehensive, efficient, and sustainable public transport system that supports the city’s growth and improves the quality of life for its residents.
