Second Armed Attack on Küçükçekmece Kebab Shop in a Week
Istanbul, January 9, 2026 – A kebab shop located on Maslak Çeşme Street in Istanbul’s Küçükçekmece district was the target of an armed assault by a motorcyclist late last night, marking the second such incident at the same establishment within a week. Fortunately, no casualties or injuries were reported, though two bullets struck the business premises.
The incident occurred around midnight when an individual on a motorcycle without a license plate stopped in front of the kebab shop and began firing indiscriminately. Customers inside the shop panicked during the attack. The assailant then fled the scene on the same motorcycle.
Upon receiving the notification, police and medical teams were dispatched to the location. Following investigations by crime scene analysis teams, it was determined that two bullets from the firearm hit the business. Police have launched a comprehensive operation to apprehend the fleeing suspect.
Authorities confirmed that the same kebab shop had been targeted in a similar shooting incident just one week prior. The repeated nature of the attacks has raised concerns among local businesses and residents in the Inönü neighborhood.
