Ankara, 26 March 2026 – The 12th ArtAnkara International Contemporary Art Fair, a prestigious event in the contemporary art world, commenced today, welcoming art lovers to the ATO Congresium. The fair, which has been hosted by Ankara since 2015, aims to inspire everyone who wishes to explore the universal language of art by bringing together artists, galleries, collectors, and art enthusiasts.

A Global Gathering of Contemporary Art

This year’s ArtAnkara fair boasts the participation of nearly 150 local and international galleries and institutions. Over 1,000 artists from 45 countries will exhibit their works, offering a diverse and rich artistic experience. In addition to gallery presentations, independent artist projects and thematic exhibition areas will be open to visitors.

Extensive Program of Panels, Workshops, and Music

The program includes 33 panels and talks focusing on art theory, contemporary art practices, collecting, and the art market. These events will feature the participation of prominent artists and academics, who will discuss current trends in contemporary art both in Turkey and globally.

Furthermore, 34 workshops will be held, offering hands-on activities for children and adults. Participants will have the opportunity to experience production processes in various disciplines, including painting, printmaking techniques, and ceramics. The fair will also host 40 musical events, primarily jazz concerts and recitals, adding a vibrant auditory dimension to the artistic experience.

Distinguished Authors and Award Ceremony

Renowned author Nedim Gürsel will present his book titled “Turkish Painters in Paris” and engage in a discussion. Researcher and writer Kerem Topuz will also participate, discussing his book “Fikret Mualla (1903-1967): Anatomy of a Bohemian” followed by a book signing session.

An invitation-only preview and an awards ceremony are also scheduled for today. During the ceremony, the recipients of the honor awards in three different categories will be announced.

Growing Popularity and Future Outlook

The fair, which attracts significant interest from both Ankara and other regions of Turkey and abroad, welcomed 83,000 visitors last year. This year’s event is expected to draw an even larger crowd, solidifying ArtAnkara’s position as a key cultural event in the region.

The fair, which opened its doors today, will conclude on Sunday, March 29.
