AYBU Equestrian Team Shines at Nevruz Cup, Securing Five Trophies
Ankara, March 23 – The Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt University (AYBU) Sports Club Equestrian Team has returned victorious from the Nevruz Cup Show Jumping Competitions, held on March 21-22, with a remarkable achievement of five trophies.
The event, which is part of the Turkish Equestrian Federation’s activity program, took place in Ankara and was hosted by the Ahal Teke Equestrian Sports Club. Numerous athletes from various clubs participated in the competitions, vying for top honors on the challenging courses.
Defne Turasan Dominates with Four Trophies
Among the athletes competing on behalf of AYBU, Defne Turasan emerged as one of the most prominent figures of the organization. Riding her horse named “Charlett 21,” Turasan delivered an outstanding performance, securing four trophies. Her achievements across different categories played a significant role in the team’s overall success.
Abdurrahman Serenli Adds to the Tally
Another athlete from the team, Abdurrahman Serenli, contributed to the university’s triumph by winning one trophy with his horse, “Kiantha.” This victory brought the total number of trophies for AYBU to five.
Coach Praises Team’s Dedication
Team coach Bahar Özsoy expressed her satisfaction with the athletes’ performance, stating that the success achieved was a direct result of planned and disciplined work. Özsoy emphasized the commitment and hard work demonstrated by the team members.
