Bahçeli: Ankara and Tehran Share a Common Vision
Ankara, March 17 – Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) Chairman Devlet Bahçeli stated that Ankara and Tehran share a common vision, emphasizing the need for introspection and unity within the Islamic world. Bahçeli made these remarks in a social media statement as the holy month of Ramadan draws to a close and Laylat al-Qadr, a night considered more blessed than a thousand months, approaches.
Bahçeli highlighted the spiritual significance of Laylat al-Qadr, even amidst the sorrow caused by ongoing conflicts. He urged a sincere and honest self-assessment regarding why “pain, genocide, and wars are nested in the Islamic geography.”
A Call for Unity and Self-Criticism
“As long as we are fragmented internally, and as long as seeds of discord grow among us, we must never forget that all kinds of aggressive external interventions will occur,” Bahçeli stated. He described the “Zionist-imperialist war and murder machine” continuously shedding Muslim blood and turning the Islamic geography into an arena of war and conflict as a “brutal and heartbreaking vicious cycle, as well as an unbearable example of one-sided cruelty.”
Bahçeli underscored the shared destiny of Ankara, Baghdad, Damascus, Jerusalem, and Gaza, asserting that their fate converges on the same common ground. He expressed profound sorrow over the 15-day closure of Al-Aqsa Mosque, the first Qibla of Islam, calling it a “heartache for all who call themselves Muslim.” He stressed that “this oppression must end.”
Hope for a United Future
“My hope is to gather and unite with the consciousness of brotherhood, without falling into the dark labyrinths of Zionist-imperialist conspiracies, and to dispel the nightmare clouds that obscure our vision with the honor and dignity of our faith,” Bahçeli concluded.
