Istanbul, April 6 – A boat fire that broke out on Friday night off the coast of Kadıköy, Istanbul, was successfully extinguished by teams from the Directorate General of Coastal Safety (KEGM). The incident, which occurred around 9:00 PM near the Haydarpaşa Breakwater, resulted in no loss of life or injuries.
Rapid Response by Coastal Safety Teams
The fire, the cause of which is currently unknown, prompted a swift response from KEGM. The KEGM-3 and KEGM-4 fast rescue boats were dispatched to the scene to combat the flames. Their timely intervention prevented further escalation of the incident.
Following the successful extinguishing of the fire, cooling operations were conducted on the damaged vessel. The boat was then towed by the KEGM-4 boat to Kalamış Marina for safekeeping. Aerial footage of the operation was captured by drones.

Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the exact cause of the fire. At this stage, no further details regarding the origin of the blaze have been released.
