Businessman Abducted in Istanbul, Ransom Demanded
Istanbul, June 8 – An Istanbul businessman experienced a nightmare after being forcibly abducted by a criminal gang. Following a tip-off, police immediately launched an investigation. In Bağcılar, suspects allegedly seeking to collect a debt kidnapped businessman S.K. and demanded a 3 million lira ransom from his family. The businessman was rescued in an operation involving special forces, and out of four suspects detained, three were arrested, and one was released on judicial control.
Police Launch Operation After Kidnapping Report
Istanbul Police Department’s Robbery Bureau teams initiated an investigation on June 3 at approximately 00:20, following a report that a person had been forcibly taken from their workplace and put into a vehicle in the 100. Yıl Mahallesi district.
During the investigation, it was determined that the kidnapped individual was businessman S.K., and the incident was carried out by individuals claiming a debt through his relative, İ.K. The suspects were found to have contacted S.K.’s family, demanding a 3 million lira ransom.
Special Forces Rescue Businessman in Büyükçekmece Operation
Teams conducting technical and physical surveillance determined that S.K. was being held against his will in a house in Büyükçekmece. A subsequent operation, which included special forces police, successfully rescued the businessman unharmed, and four suspects were taken into custody. During searches at the house, one unlicensed pistol and numerous bullets were seized.
Suspects Referred to Court
After completing their procedures at the police department, the suspects were referred to court. The court ordered the arrest of three suspects, while one was released under judicial control.
