Istanbul, May 21 – An 11-year-old child sustained serious injuries after being struck by a truck while riding a scooter in Istanbul’s Beylikdüzü district yesterday evening. The incident, which occurred at approximately 6:30 PM on Özal Street in Yakuplu Mahallesi, was recorded by a nearby business’s security camera.

Child Attempting to Enter Main Road Hit by Truck

The child, identified as A.E.W., a Yemeni national, was reportedly attempting to exit a side street and enter the main Özal Street on a scooter when the collision with a moving truck took place. Eyewitnesses immediately reported the accident to emergency services and police.

Emergency Response and Investigation Underway

Upon arrival, medical teams determined that A.E.W. was seriously injured and was subsequently transported to a hospital by ambulance. The truck driver was taken to the police station for questioning as part of the ongoing investigation into the accident.

Security footage from a local business captured the moment the truck collided with the child on the scooter. The visuals show the child emerging from the side street just as the truck was passing, leading to the impact.
