Ankara, February 16 – An operation conducted by the Provincial Gendarmerie Command KOM Branch Directorate and District Gendarmerie Command teams in Ankara’s Etimesgut district resulted in the arrest of one individual involved in the production and sale of counterfeit license plates. The suspect, identified as M.A., was apprehended along with materials valued at approximately 2.45 million Turkish Liras.

Two-Month Investigation Leads to Arrest

The gendarmerie teams had been monitoring M.A. for two months, gathering evidence that he was manufacturing and selling counterfeit license plates for a fee. This extensive surveillance culminated in a raid on the suspect’s workplace.

Seizure of Extensive Counterfeit Materials

During the search of M.A.’s premises, authorities discovered a significant cache of equipment and materials used in the illicit operation. The seized items, with an estimated market value of 2.45 million Turkish Liras, included:

  • 129 counterfeit embossed license plates
  • 100 blank counterfeit license plates
  • 1 pressing machine
  • 1 painting machine
  • 513 metal molds for letters and numbers
  • 6 letter molds
  • 1 counterfeit cold seal machine
  • 1 QR code printing machine and toner
  • 200 liters of paint used in license plate production
  • 30 liters of thinner
  • Various cargo bags

Following the seizure, M.A. was taken into custody. Legal proceedings have been initiated in connection with the incident.
