Fatal Car Accident in Ankara: Driver Dies After Vehicle Overturns
Ankara, March 24 – A tragic car accident occurred late Monday night in the Yenimahalle district of Ankara, resulting in one fatality. The driver, identified only as G.Ö., lost control of their vehicle, which then collided with a road barrier and a lighting pole before overturning. Despite immediate medical intervention, the driver succumbed to their injuries.
Details of the Accident
The incident took place around 11:00 PM in Macun Mahallesi, Yenimahalle district. According to initial reports, the car, with license plate 06 FG 2681, veered off course, first striking a barrier separating the road and then crashing into a roadside lighting pole. The impact caused the vehicle to overturn, trapping the driver inside.
Emergency services, including health, police, and fire brigade teams, were immediately dispatched to the scene following reports from eyewitnesses. Firefighters worked to extricate the trapped driver from the overturned vehicle.
Driver Pronounced Dead at Hospital
After being freed from the wreckage, G.Ö. was transported by ambulance to Ankara Oncology Hospital. Despite the efforts of the medical team, the driver could not be saved and was pronounced dead at the hospital.
