Ankara, May 30 – Gendarmerie Staff Sergeant Yusuf Ergün was martyred yesterday after being struck by a car while clearing tire debris from the Ankara-Niğde Highway in the Bala district of Ankara. Despite immediate medical intervention, he succumbed to his injuries at Gölbaşı State Hospital.

According to initial reports, the incident occurred when the 38th Highway Gendarmerie Team responded to a call regarding tire debris on the Ankara-Niğde Highway in the Bala section. Gendarmerie Staff Sergeant Yusuf Ergün was actively involved in clearing the road when he was hit by a car driven by Esra Ç.
Ergün, who was severely injured in the collision, was immediately transported to Gölbaşı State Hospital. Despite all efforts by medical personnel, he could not be saved and was pronounced martyred.
