The General Directorate of Meteorology has issued a last-minute weather statement for Saturday, December 13, 2025, detailing expectations for various regions across Turkey. The report highlights potential for heavy rainfall, mixed rain and snow, and widespread fog, prompting warnings for citizens to remain cautious.
Mixed Rain and Snow Warnings Issued for Several Provinces
The latest forecast indicates that the northern, central, and eastern parts of the country will experience partly to very cloudy skies. Rainfall is anticipated in the eastern Marmara region, the Black Sea region, and in the vicinities of Sivas, Bitlis, Ardahan, Van, and Hakkari. Other areas are expected to be less cloudy and clear.
Precipitation will generally be in the form of rain and showers. However, higher elevations of the inner Western Black Sea region, the inner parts of the Eastern Black Sea, and the areas around Sivas, Ardahan, Bitlis, Van, and Hakkari are expected to see mixed rain and snow, or even pure snow. The Meteorology General Directorate has specifically warned of strong rainfall along the Eastern Black Sea coast and in the vicinities of Artvin and Ardahan, urging residents to take precautions against potential adverse conditions.
Fog, Frost, and Strong Winds Also Expected
In addition to rainfall, morning and night hours will bring fog and localized mist to the southern and eastern Marmara regions, as well as inner and eastern parts of the country. Frost and freezing conditions are predicted for eastern Central Anatolia, the inner parts of the Eastern Black Sea, and Eastern Anatolia. Furthermore, strong winds from the west and northwest, reaching speeds of 40-60 km/h, are expected along the Central Black Sea coast and in the Eastern Black Sea region, necessitating caution against potential disruptions.
