Teams from the Ümraniye District Police Department’s Public Order Bureau initiated surveillance on a 39-year-old individual identified as Ü.T., who was suspected of engaging in the unlicensed trade of weapons and ammunition. Investigations revealed that the suspect was conducting these illicit activities from both his residence in Ümraniye and his workplace in Ataşehir.
Following a period of meticulous observation and intelligence gathering, law enforcement officers launched simultaneous raids on the identified addresses in both districts last Sunday. During these coordinated operations, Ü.T. was successfully taken into custody without incident.
11 Unlicensed Firearms and Ammunition Seized
The searches conducted at the suspect’s residence and workplace yielded a significant haul of illegal weaponry. Police confiscated 11 unlicensed pistols, along with three magazines and 112 rounds of ammunition specifically designed for these firearms. Additionally, a truncheon was also found and seized during the searches.
