Ankara Police Bust Illegal Fuel Production Ring in Sincan
Ankara, February 5 – An extensive operation by the Ankara Police Department’s Smuggling Crimes Branch has led to the discovery of an illegal fuel production facility in the Sincan district. The raid resulted in the detention of two suspects and the seizure of a significant quantity of illicit fuel, estimated to be worth 42 million Turkish Liras.
According to information obtained, police teams had been monitoring a recycling factory in Sincan for three months, after receiving intelligence that it was producing and distributing illegal fuel. The meticulous investigation culminated in an operation that uncovered the clandestine activities.
Over 1 Million Liters of Illegal Fuel Confiscated
During the operation, authorities confiscated 1.05 million liters of illegal fuel, which has an estimated market value of 42 million Turkish Liras. This substantial seizure highlights the scale of the illicit operation.
Two individuals suspected of involvement in the illegal fuel production and distribution have been taken into custody. Police are actively continuing their efforts to apprehend one additional suspect linked to the case.
