INSECSPACE’2026 Conference to Discuss Space and Satellite Security in Ankara
Ankara, April 28 – The INSECSPACE’2026 Conference, a significant event addressing the security of the space and satellite sector and recent developments in these fields, will be held tomorrow in the capital. The conference is a collaborative effort between the Turkish Space Agency (TUA), TÜRKSAT, TÜBİTAK UZAY, the Telecommunication Satellite and Broadcasting Businesspeople Association (TUYAD), and MONIN.
Hosted at the Information Technologies and Communication Authority (BTK) Conference Hall, INSECSPACE’2026 will feature experts discussing advancements across various domains, from space technologies to cybersecurity and new-generation satellite architectures.
Space and Satellite Technologies: A Strategic Imperative
Ali Yazıcı, Chairman of the INSECSPACE’2026 Conference, stated that in recent times, space and satellite technologies have evolved beyond mere indicators of technological progress to become a critical area central to security, sovereignty, sustainability, and strategic cooperation.
Yazıcı emphasized that in the digital age, the secure, efficient, and sustainable use of space systems is no longer a matter of preference but a strategic imperative at both national and international levels. “In line with this vision, the INSECSPACE’2026 Conference, a high-value and strategically positioned platform operating at the intersection of space, satellite systems, and cybersecurity, will be held tomorrow at the BTK Conference Hall with the main theme of ‘Secure Use of Innovative Technologies in Satellite Systems.’ It will strongly focus on the secure use of innovative technologies in space, including artificial intelligence, quantum, multi-orbit operations, dual-use, robotic debris removal, satellite life extension, and supply chain security,” Yazıcı added.
Key Stakeholders to Converge
Yazıcı noted that global developments, regional crises, and escalating geopolitical tensions in recent years have highlighted the importance of satellite systems in every domain, from communication to defense, intelligence, and critical infrastructure management. “Cyber threats, electronic warfare activities, jamming attempts, and data security risks directly impact not only the performance but also the reliability and sustainability of space infrastructures,” he stated.
“In this context, with the INSECSPACE’2026 Conference, we aim to develop a security-oriented innovation culture within our country’s space ecosystem, strengthen information sharing, and promote interdisciplinary cooperation. The conference will bring together space, aviation, and defense industry companies, satellite operators and manufacturers, public and governmental institutions, policymakers, strategic planners, industry decision-makers, academics, and key stakeholders of the R&D ecosystem,” Yazıcı explained.
The conference will feature sessions on ‘Innovative and Emerging Satellite Technologies and Their Roles in National Defense,’ ‘Space Economy and Situational Awareness,’ ‘Resilient and Secure Satellite Communication Technologies,’ and ‘Future Satellite Technologies.’
