Istanbul Leads with Six Teams in Upcoming Super Lig Season

Istanbul, May 24 – The 2026-2027 Trendyol Super Lig season is set to feature teams from 13 different cities across Turkey, with Istanbul once again dominating the league with six clubs. This was announced yesterday evening, following the conclusion of the 2025-2026 Trendyol 1. Lig play-offs and the finalization of relegations from the Super Lig.

Erzurumspor FK and Amed Sportif Faaliyetler, who finished in the top two spots of the Trendyol 1. Lig regular season, have secured their promotion to the Super Lig. They will be joined by Çorum Futbol Kulübü, who emerged victorious in the play-offs, earning their spot in the top flight.

Conversely, Fatih Karagümrük, Kayserispor, and Antalyaspor have been relegated from the Trendyol Super Lig and will compete in the 1. Lig next season.

City Representation in the 2026-2027 Super Lig

Istanbul, historically the city with the most teams in the Super Lig, continues its strong presence with six clubs, including the traditional ‘big three’ – Galatasaray, Fenerbahçe, and Beşiktaş. The other cities that will have representation in the upcoming season are Ankara, Izmir, Gaziantep, Antalya, Konya, Kocaeli, Samsun, Trabzon, Rize, Erzurum, Diyarbakır, and Çorum, each contributing one team.
