Istanbul Governor Gül Announces 10,000 Lira Scholarship for Students During Eid

Istanbul Governor Davut Gül announced an increase in scholarship amounts for students to 10,000 Turkish Liras during an iftar program with high school students. The Governor stated, “We are giving you 6,000 liras scholarship every month. This month, due to Eid, we have increased the scholarship amount to 10,000 liras. We will deposit it into your accounts on Friday.”

‘Türkiye Yüzyılı Çocukları’ Iftar Program

The ‘Türkiye Yüzyılı Çocukları’ (Children of the Century of Turkey) iftar program, organized by the Istanbul Governorship, took place at the Taşyapı Event Area in Şişli. Istanbul Governor Davut Gül and his wife Gülden Gül, along with Provincial Director of National Education Mücahit Yentur, Taşyapı Chairman of the Board Emrullah Turanlı, students who scored full marks in the LGS exam, students from earthquake-affected provinces who chose Istanbul, and students who ranked in the top thousand in the Higher Education Institutions Exam (YKS) attended the program.

Continued Support for Education

During the iftar program, Governor Gül conveyed the President’s greetings to the students and elaborated on the ‘Türkiye Yüzyılı Çocukları Project’. He said, “Let me summarize the ‘Türkiye Yüzyılı Çocukları Project’. We provide scholarships to all students who scored full marks in the LGS exam and are studying in high schools in Istanbul. We will walk with you throughout your education. We have only one goal; for you to not forget that you belong to these lands. God willing, you will study in excellent schools, you will go anywhere in the world. You can establish a life there, but whatever you do, do not forget that you belong here.”

Gül reminded the attendees that the holy month of Ramadan was halfway through and Eid was approaching. He reiterated the scholarship increase, stating, “We are giving you 6,000 liras scholarship every month. This month, due to Eid, we have increased the scholarship amount to 10,000 liras. We will deposit it into your accounts on Friday.”

The program concluded after a photo session with the students.
