Istanbul, February 7 – A neighborhood grocery store in Istanbul’s Sultangazi district was the scene of an armed attack late last night, marking the second such incident in five months. The store owner, identified as E.C., sustained injuries and was transported to a hospital. Authorities have initiated a search for the two masked assailants.
Second Attack on Sultangazi Grocer
The incident occurred in the 100. Yıl Mahallesi E Street area of Sultangazi. According to reports, two masked individuals approached the grocery store and opened fire on the owner, E.C., before fleeing the scene on foot. Police and medical teams were dispatched to the address following the report.
E.C. was shot in the leg and abdomen and was subsequently taken to the hospital by ambulance. This attack comes just five months after a similar incident where the same grocery store was reportedly shot at. It has been revealed that E.C. was under police protection following the previous assault.
Investigation Launched
The Istanbul Police Department has launched a comprehensive investigation to identify and apprehend the masked suspects.
