In Istanbul’s Eyüpsultan district, natural gas teams conducting excavation work discovered ammunition believed to be a mortar shell. The incident occurred on 1st Güven Street in Akşemsettin Neighborhood.

Ammunition Found During IGAŞ Excavation

Teams from IGAŞ (Istanbul Gas Distribution Industry and Trade Inc.), while performing excavation work, found buried ammunition. Upon the discovery, the teams immediately reported the situation to the authorities.

Police Secure the Area

Following the notification, police teams were dispatched to the scene. They promptly took security measures around the area where the ammunition was found. After a period of investigation, the teams secured the ammunition, which is believed to be a mortar shell.
