Niger President Tchiani Arrives in Ankara for Official Visit

Ankara, June 4 – Nigerien President Abdourahamane Tchiani arrived in Ankara yesterday for an official visit, where he was formally greeted by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan at the Presidential Complex.

Official Welcome Ceremony for President Tchiani

The ceremony commenced with cavalry escorting President Tchiani’s motorcade to the protocol gate of the Presidential Complex. President Erdoğan met Tchiani at the main entrance, and after they took their places, the military band played the national anthems of both countries. The ceremony also featured flags representing the 16 historical Turkish states and soldiers, along with a 21-gun salute.

President Tchiani saluted the Guard Regiment Ceremony Troop with a “Merhaba asker” (Hello soldier). The two leaders then introduced their respective delegations to each other. Following the ceremony, President Erdoğan and President Tchiani shook hands and posed for the press in front of the Turkish and Nigerien flags.

High-Level Bilateral Meetings and Agreements

The two presidents proceeded to hold a one-on-one meeting, after which they were scheduled to chair inter-delegation talks. These discussions are expected to cover a range of topics aimed at strengthening bilateral relations between Turkey and Niger.

Following the meetings, President Erdoğan and President Tchiani will participate in a signing ceremony for various agreements, underscoring the commitment of both nations to enhance cooperation across different sectors. A joint press conference will then be held, where the leaders are expected to announce the outcomes of their discussions and the signed agreements.

President Erdoğan will also host an official dinner in honor of President Tchiani, providing a further opportunity for diplomatic engagement and strengthening personal ties between the leaders.

The official welcoming ceremony was attended by several high-ranking Turkish officials, reflecting the importance of President Tchiani’s visit. Among the attendees were:
